CROESO | WELCOME
There has been a café in this building under the name
Ann’s Pantry since at least 1926.
Over the years, it has become part of many family stories — and we love hearing them.
Our customers often tell us that Ann’s Pantry was one of the few places able to source chocolate during the war, a small but much-loved luxury at a difficult time.
If Ann’s Pantry is part of your own family history, we’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to get in touch — whether by email, on social media, or even by letter.
Celebrating 100 Years of Ann’s Pantry
In 2026, Ann’s Pantry reaches a remarkable milestone —
100 years of welcoming customers through its doors.
For a century, this little café has been a place for coffee and cake, conversation and comfort, everyday treats and special moments. Generations of locals and visitors alike have passed through, each leaving behind a small piece of the story.
As we approach our centenary, we’re proud to continue the tradition of simple, honest food, friendly service, and a warm welcome — just as Ann’s Pantry has always done.
Our Aims
At Ann’s Pantry, our aim is to keep the café just as many people remember it:
Good, home-cooked food, served with warmth and friendly service.
We are committed to:
Serving local produce whenever possible, guided by the seasons
Growing what we can ourselves — from seasonal herbs in the garden to apples from our tree, which find their way into our chutneys and crumbles
Using Fairtrade tea, coffee and hot chocolate, ensuring growers are paid fairly while you enjoy a great cup
Reducing single-use plastic, with takeaway cups, containers and bags that are compostable or recyclable, and working with a local waste company that prioritises recycling
Paying a fair wage and looking after our staff
Sourcing and selling gifts that are locally made or Fairtrade
These values guide everything we do, helping Ann’s Pantry remain a place of simple pleasures, community, and care — just as it has been for generations.
